Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to and use of the CarTrace app, website, vehicle report pages, export guide, support services, and related features.
1. Service overview
CarTrace provides China-origin vehicle history information for buyer reference. Users may submit a VIN in the iOS app, purchase report credits, view report status, and read generated reports when data is available from supported sources.
2. Account and eligibility
You must be legally able to use online services and make purchases in your region. You are responsible for keeping your account, device, password, and sign-in method secure.
3. VIN lookup and report limits
Reports are based on available third-party, commercial, provider, and service records at the time of lookup. CarTrace does not create the underlying vehicle records and cannot guarantee that every accident, service event, title issue, mileage event, ownership change, or vehicle condition is included.
Reports are informational only. They are not a substitute for physical inspection, professional appraisal, legal advice, insurance review, or independent due diligence before buying, selling, financing, or insuring a vehicle.
4. Purchases, credits, and refunds
Report credits may be required before a VIN lookup can be submitted. Purchases are processed by Apple and verified through RevenueCat and CarTrace systems. Eligible failed lookups may be credited back according to the rules shown in the app and service logic. Apple refunds are handled by Apple and applicable law.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use CarTrace for illegal, fraudulent, abusive, automated, or unauthorized purposes; submit VINs you are not allowed to use; interfere with service security; scrape, reverse engineer, or overload the systems; or misrepresent report results.
6. Service availability
CarTrace may be delayed, unavailable, incomplete, or interrupted due to maintenance, network conditions, third-party provider delays, data source limitations, app store processing, or events outside our control.
7. Intellectual property
CarTrace, the app, website, report presentation, design, software, and branding are protected by intellectual property laws. You may use them only as permitted by these Terms.
8. Suspension and deletion
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that you violated these Terms, created risk for CarTrace or other users, abused purchases or reports, or used the service unlawfully. You may request account deletion in the app.
9. Disclaimers and liability
CarTrace is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, and non-infringement. CarTrace is not liable for vehicle purchase decisions, report omissions, unavailable records, indirect losses, lost profits, lost data, or service interruptions except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of CarTrace after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
